social media and education

Today I would like to give you an idea that why it is necessary for students to learn about social media and responsible uses of social media.
In 1990, Internet was the topic of a similar debate on schools that how it will affect the study in classroom. Same challenge we are facing as a educationist that social media is affecting the child behavior.
A child spend 8 hours in school and rest of the hours at home.At home, out of 8 hours 2-5 hours they spend on single activity which affect the behavior of a child in school, in classroom and affect real life. Its social media in different form like Facebook , twitter, blogs or whatever. i am not against using the social sites but i want that student should learn about the responsible use of social media because stopping social media is similar to try to stop a oncoming train.
we do not have a choice on whether we do social media or not. The question is
                                            "How well we do it"
Teaching social media means prepare child for the future.Imagine the possibilities social media brings to the classroom. social media offers an opportunity to truly transform education. This technology offer a powerful creating a transparent and participatory teaching environment. Transparent and participatory learning happens when we allow students to share and learn from each other.students take technology for granted. They  repurpose them to meet their need but they don't necessarily think about it. so schools and parents have a critical role when it comes to helping youth. we can help them understand how to make sense of what they are seeing. we can call it media literacy or digital literacy or simply learning to live in a modern world. students can keep engage with social media because when kids are engaged, they learn better.
